چکیده
To extract chemical information reliably, we propose a new data processing method based both on the creation of vectors and vector base change. The originality this is combination different core XPS peaks, Auger and/or valence bands in single vector. We show that measurement sample upon its progressive change, such as accumulation adventitious carbon, allows us to create basis using linear algebra Principal Component Analysis. demonstrate application carbon films Au foil utilizing 4f, C 1s O spectral envelopes. This expands possibilities measured environment analysis an operator-unbiased solution for materials which reference spectra are not available. In demonstration, emphasis placed identifying changes peak assumed be highlight uncertainties associated with calibrating binding energy scale simple model identify component saturated hydrocarbon origin.

متن کاملHigh-resolution soft X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of liquid water.
High-resolution soft X-ray photoelectron spectra of liquid water (H(2)O and D(2)O) were measured using a liquid beam photoelectron spectrometer. The 1a(1) (O1s) band and the lowest valence 1b(1) band had single peaks, which is not consistent with the split 1b(1)→ 1a(1) of the X-ray emission band of liquid water if the splitting is assumed to originate from level shifts in two different hydrogen...

The development of femtosecond time-resolved methods for the study of gas-phase molecular dynamics is founded upon the seminal studies of Zewail and co-workers, as recognized in 1999 by the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.1 This methodology has been applied to chemical reactions ranging in complexity from bond-breaking in diatomic molecules to dynamics in larger organic and biological molecules, and h...
متن کاملSurface Characterization of Carbon Materials by X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy
Surface physicochemical properties are sensitive to preparation techniques, including physical and chemical treatments. Thus, surface treatments could induce significant changes in the surface modification of several materials. From its earliest days, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) was widely used as a powerful tool for understanding the nature of many different types of surfaces. Over ...
متن کاملHigh-resolution photoelectron spectroscopy
The evolution of photoelectron spectroscopy of neutral molecules in the gas phase from its first applications in the early 1960s to the present day is reviewed with emphasis on the description of methods that have contributed to improve the resolution. In early days, photoelectron spectroscopy was very successfully used to study the electronic structure of molecules. As the resolution improved,...
